About Institute of Entrepreneurship

The Institute of Entrepreneurship was established on May 1, 2017 as a result of a transformation of the Department of Management in Tourism. Aleksander Panasiuk, Prof is the Director of the Institute, while Sebastian Kopera, PhD is the Deputy Director.

The Institute operates as an independent unit within the Faculty of Management and Social Communication of the Jagiellonian University. We currently employ nineteen research and administrative employees. We are also constantly cooperating with practitioners in the field of tourism, sport and new media.

The educational activity of our Institute includes educating managers for the tourism, sports, public and new media sectors. It is focused on creating entrepreneurial attitudes - as part of the master's studies in the fields of Social Media in Management and Management in Tourism and Sport (specializations: Tourism Management, Sports Management).

In addition, together with the Polish Olympic Academy, we have been conducting postgraduate studies in Sport Manager for over a dozen years. We also offer postgraduate studies in Procurement Management in Business and Entrepreneurship for teachers.

In our research work, we study economy on a micro- and mezzo-scale. We look at the processes and phenomena on the market through the prism of competitiveness, understood rather as a "joint search", and not as absolute competition. We also place significant emphasis on the cooperation of various entities of the economy, seeing it as the best way to develop a sustainable knowledge-based economy.
